AWARD-WINNING DINO SOFOS JOINS CONCRETE

Concrete is delighted to announce the appointment of award-winning Dino Sofos as Senior Dubbing Mixer / Sound Designer, who will be responsible for the running and operation of the audio mixing suites at Concrete. He will head the team that includes Folu Ososanya. Dino has won four PROMAX awards: 2 Silver, 2 Gold (2004-7, UK), 2 Silver Lourie Awards (2001-2002, SA) and has composed the music and sound for award-winning international trailers such as Michael Winterbottom''s film "The Road To Guantanamo".

Dino was the main Audio Editor at Channel 4 for the last five years and he is a highly accomplished expert ProTools operator with over twelve years of experience. Dino''s background includes recording, sound-design, 5.1 HD Dolby surround sound and dubbing mixing for commercials, promos, trailers and long-form for television, film, radio and multi-media. He has also worked for Channel Five, Ascent Media, Waterfront Studios and The Video Lab and SABC in South Africa. He brings with him a wealth of expertise in all areas of sound recording and production, working with well-known clients namely Channel 4, 4 Creative, E4, More 4, Film Four, BBC1 and 2, Ascent Media, Discovery Channel, Flextech, Wark Clements, Tiger Aspect, Channel 5, Frame Cunningham, Mentorn and in South Africa with Ogilvy & Mather and JWT amongst others.

An exhaustive list of high-profile work that Dino has worked on recently includes trailers for Desperate Housewives; Ugly Betty; Lost; Big Brother 9; Shameless; Grand Designs; Green Wing; Dispatches; Wife Swap; theatrical trailers for Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon; Super-size Me; Fahrenheit 911; The English Patient; Film Four Film Trailers; Gangs of New York and Lord Of The Rings - Fellowship of the Ring to name just a few, from an extensive account of outstanding credits to his name. Concrete''s 5.1 mixing suites are fully equipped to cater for the whole range of services to satisfy every requirement for preparing audio for TV broadcast; commercials; corporate projects; web viral production; sound design and all forms of audio recording including voice over work and director''s commentary for DVD production. The state of the art sound suites at Concrete utilises full 5.1 Surround Sound monitoring with the latest ProTools technology to mix and edit all audio and music formats. The suites are also networked to all of Concrete's editing and a finishing suites, which creates a seamless digital transfer of tapeless imports and exports from suite to suite. This seamless transition of data maximises efficiency, and thus, significantly reduces digitising times. Concrete boasts an extremely efficient, tapeless exchange of media between visual and audio suites at any stage throughout the entire postproduction process.
