CONCRETE APPOINTS SENIOR AUDIO DESIGNER, PETER WOOLLISCROFT FOR CONCRETE'S SOUND SUITE

Concrete , one of Soho's leading high-end postproduction facilities based in Dean Street, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Peter Woolliscroft this month as Audio Designer. He will be responsible for the running and operation of the Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound Audio Suite at Concrete. Peter is a BBC trained, highly experienced and talented dubbing mixer and audio designer, bringing with him a wealth of experience in all areas of sound recording and production; independent music recording & production; dubbing for film, television and the operation of all audio post facilities at ITV (Carlton TV).

Concrete's audio suite is now fully equipped to cater for the whole range of services to satisfy every requirement for preparing audio for TV broadcast; commercials; corporate projects; web viral production; sound design and all forms of audio recording including voice over work and director's commentary for DVD production. The state of the art sound suite at Concrete utilises full 5.1 Surround Sound monitoring with the latest ProTools technology to mix and edit all audio and music formats. The suite is also networked to all of Concrete's editing and finishing suites which creates a seamless digital transfer of tapeless imports and exports from suite to suite. This seamless transition of data maximises efficiency, and thus, significantly reduces digitising times. Concrete boasts an extremely efficient, tapeless exchange of media between visual and audio suites at any stage throughout the entire post production process. "Audio facilities must cater for all aspects of creative "sound design" which include the original "soundscape" creation to the full 5.1 mixing, right through to file delivery for all HD formats at any broadcast or web standard. The audio suite at Concrete fulfils all of this and more and is also capable of encoding to Dolby "E" for surround sound HD broadcast and AC3 for DVD encoding. It can also be directly connected to a wide range of audio delivery formats as well as standard or high definition tape formats, such as DA88, Digi Beta, HD CAM, DAT, Beta SP and so forth." explains Peter. "I am delighted to be working at Concrete and with such a professional and highly creative company – it is very exciting indeed." Peter adds.
