CONCRETE IS FIRST FACILITY IN SOHO TO INSTALL QUANTEL'S NEW GENETIC ENGINEERING

Concrete, one of Soho's leading high-end postproduction facilities is pleased to announce the exciting news that they are installing Quantel's new Genetic Engineering technology. Concrete is the very first facility in Soho to install GE (Genetic Engineering). Concrete is investing in the new technology to serve their clients with the highest standards as they continue to rapidly expand.

"The reason Concrete invests in new technology is only ever to increase creativity. In this case, providing immediate access to data across all of our suites through GE, will significantly reduce waiting time and therefore it will increase available creative time." Explains David Cox, Joint MD at Concrete. Concrete boasts an impressively vast array of the best technology around, which provides clients with outstanding and maximum creative capability. "GE will help us utilise the best technology of each of our suites in order to tailor our facilities to a given project." Chris Gilbert, Joint MD adds.

This huge investment in GE affirms Concrete's ongoing commitment to implementing technology that reduces waiting and processing times in order to provide the maximum creative time for their clients' projects. Genetic Engineering (GE) will be used primarily to provide the two eQ systems at Concrete with access to shared projects, which will allow for much more efficient project handling and faster turn around times. It will also be used to seamlessly and quickly transfer data between all the powerful systems at Concrete, which include AVIDs, Smokes, Mistikas, graphics and audio mixing.

Genetic Engineering is Quantel's brand new high speed, platform-independent central storage system and is described as a sophisticated suite of products that increases efficiency, encourages creativity and delivers a step change in flexibility for post and DI businesses.
